about

This song was one I wanted to include because I had been workshopping the main riff for four years. I came up with the intro guitar lick while on a beach in Seattle watching the sunset. It wasn't until two years later that I recorded it and wrote a melody to it. I wrote the lyrics three times for the entire song.

lyrics

Tell me, friend
Can you hear the wind blow
Outside your door
Or is the music too loud?

It’s weird to think
That after all this
Time we have spent
We still don’t have clue

Of where to go
Of what to know
Or telling right from wrong
Is that the point of all this?
Is that the point of all this?
We spend these days entangled in
Conceived ideas and time
Trying to find a way out
Trying to find a way out

When summer flows
Through the city
It fills my lungs
And puts my worry to end

Theres something about
The way the trees move
That makes me smile
The simple sway of branches

What a gift
To be adrift
A young blood alive today
Make of it what you will
Make of it what you will
I should smile
For a million miles
Before my hair turns gray
Enjoy it while you can
Enjoy it while you can

Every broken hearts
And old bouquet
Know tomorrow is soon to start
These are the days
These are the days
(4x)
